Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 0–1 years ophthalmology experience (Required)
  • Associate’s Degree with 0–1 years ophthalmology experience (Preferred)
  • Ophthalmic Technician program with 0–1 years education/certification considered in lieu of experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Complete medical and ocular history for all patients.
  • Document medications and health screening information.
  • Perform preliminary ocular exams and vision testing.
  • Administer eye medications per protocol.
  • Assist ophthalmologist with direct patient care and procedures.
  • Schedule MRIs and retrieve reports as applicable.
  • Train other technicians as assigned by manager.
  • Adhere to Penn Medicine policies and safety standards.
