Job summary

Atlantic Eye Institute is hiring an ophthalmic technician to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists by collecting ocular health data and performing clinical tests. The role includes data entry into EMRs, taking patient histories, and supporting in-office procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as uncertified ophthalmic assistant preferred.
• COA, preferred.
• Modernizing Medicine experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform tests ordered by doctor based on exam type and patient history.
• Act as a medical scribe and enter data into EMR.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Assist with in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Adhere to procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
