Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. In this role you assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and handle related administrative tasks, with on-the-job training available.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and prior medical field experience; EMR familiarity and MS Office skills are preferred. You will contribute to accurate medical histories, eye measurements, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in medical field preferred.
• Experience with EMR tools and MS Office beneficial.
• Ophthalmic technician or scribe experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests (applanation tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
• Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity.
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for eye exams.
• Explain proper use of eye drops or other medications.
• Explain contact lens care and handling.
• Assist with inventory management.
