Job summary

Atlantic Vision Partners in Virginia is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our clinics. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide direct patient care, with on-site training and paid certifications for growth.

You will obtain patient history, determine visual acuity, perform automated refraction, administer eye drops, enter data into EMR, perform tonometry, and help with pre-operative prep and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in eye care.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history.
• Follow office workup protocols.
• Determine visual acuity.
• Perform automated refraction.
• Administer eye drops, ointments, and eye solutions.
• Enter data into EMR and provide patient services.
• Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry).
• Pre-operative preparation of patient.
• Maintain equipment and instruments.
