Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support North Georgia Eye Associates in Gainesville. You will assist ophthalmologists and optometrists with clinical testing, data collection, and patient care.

You will collect ocular and systemic histories, document visual acuity, and help with in-office procedures while maintaining accurate EMR records and a clean exam area. High School Diploma preferred; Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred; strong communication required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam type.
• Enter data into electronic medical records during exams.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications as directed.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with patient education and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Report inventory and supply needs to leadership.
• Participate in daily team huddles and meetings.
