Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic technician to support a high-volume ophthalmic practice across multiple Georgia locations. You will handle patient history, acuity testing, refractions, keratometry, tonometry, imaging, and pre/post-operative tasks.

The role requires strong customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to travel between offices; COA is preferred and EMR proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmic clinical tasks preferred.
• 2–5 years as ophthalmic technician preferred.
• COA certification preferred.
• Experience with EMR and ophthalmic imaging desirable.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining and documenting patient history.
• Determining visual acuity.
• Performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes.
• Performing basic lensometry.
• Pupillary assessment.
• Visual field testing.
• PAM (pupil automatic measurement).
• Basic ocular motility assessment.
• Automated keratometry.
• Osmolarity testing.
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered.
• Entering data into EMR and providing patient services.
• Measuring intraocular pressure (tonometry).
• Pre-operative preparation of patient.
• Maintaining equipment and instruments.
• Perform ocular imaging including OCT and Topography.
• Post-operative education.
• Travel to other offices; flexibility with locations.
