Job summary

MidWest Eye Center in Cincinnati, OH seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to assist physicians and collect ocular health data. You will perform clinical tests, document findings in the EMR, and support patient education in a fast-paced eye care setting.

Primary location is our Westside clinic with daytime hours. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and experience with Nextech/ICP and ophthalmic tech roles. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam.
• Enter data into electronic medical records while physician examines patient.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and accurately records visual acuity.
• Administers topical ophthalmic medications under the direction of the physician.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures to obtain informed consent.
• Assist with patient education.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms and complies with procedures.
