Job summary

Minnesota Eye Consultants (MEC) is hiring a full-time Ophthalmic Technician for the Minnetonka clinic. The role involves performing measurements and tests to aid diagnosis, primarily with Doctors of Optometry.

Starting pay is $20.00-$23.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday hours and occasional Saturday half-days. The position offers opportunities for career growth within MEC, with a path to advance as a Technician on our team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience in an eye clinic or medical setting.
• Optometry or ophthalmology experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge patients; assist with service needs and accessibility.
• Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint and ocular history.
• Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing (VA, keratometry, tonometry, etc.).
• Educate patients about diagnostic testing and clinic visits.
• Open/close exam rooms; ensure equipment cleanliness and stock supplies.
