Job summary

Paylocity seeks a patient-facing Medical Assistant to support ophthalmology services. You will greet patients, document histories and results in the EHR as dictated by physicians, and help manage ophthalmic testing and equipment per established guidelines.

The role requires attention to patient confidentiality, accurate data entry, and collaboration with physicians and technicians. Regular travel to satellite locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Transcribes patient history and results into the EHR as dictated during patient exam.
• Records physician fees in the EHR as dictated during patient exam.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Performs visual acuity tests and basic ophthalmic assessments per guidelines.
• Reviews patient charts and posts examination results into the EHR.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Obtains patient history and transcribes results into our EHR as physician(s) orally dictate during patient exam.
• Records physician(s) fee tickets in EHR as physician(s) dictate during patient exam.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Escorts patients to appropriate area and assists physicians as needed.
• Performs visual acuity tests, autorefraction and tonometry per guidelines.
• Reviews patient charts and posts tests/exam results into EHR.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and maintains autoclave per guidelines.
