Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED required; one year of related experience preferred.
• Prefer COA/COT certification but not required; willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
• Experience with EMR systems and basic Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong communication, patient care focus, and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist with patient testing and exam preparation.
• Record medical history, medications, and visit purpose; document in EMR.
• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, OCT).
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures; monitor vital signs.
• Maintain room cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure patient flow.
