Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of full-time ophthalmology experience under supervision of ophthalmologic supervision.
• Preferred: JRCOMP approved program for ophthalmology assistants.

Responsibilities

• Perform ocular patient intake including history and allergies.
• Run routine ophthalmic tests (intraocular pressure, basic motility, visual fields, PAM and BAT tests, A-scan USN, fundus photography, pupillary assessment).
• Assist the physician during in-office diagnostic and minor surgical procedures, including instrumentation and documentation.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications or diagnostic drops as required.
• Educate patients about prescribed treatments.
• Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments and surgeries.
