Delaware Eye Care Center in Newark, DE is seeking a patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician to support the ophthalmology team in the exam lane. You will input data into the Electronic Health Record and assist with a range of tests and procedures ordered by physicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to travel to other offices occasionally.
• Able to stand for eight hours.
• Experience in multi-specialty clinic preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist Ophthalmologist and Optometrist in exam lane and data entry.
• Perform pre-exam testing as ordered and document findings.
• Conduct visual acuity, refractive, and special tests (color vision, stereopsis, dry eye).
• Perform lensometry and specialized testing (visual fields, keratometry, OCT).
• Assist with minor procedures or laser treatments in the office.
• Assist with contact lens fitting and patient education.
• Manage prescription refills with physician approval and chart documentation.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and safety procedures.
• Open/close exam lanes; ensure equipment cleanliness and safety.
