Job summary

Delaware Eye Care Center is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in the exam lane and to input data into the Electronic Health Record. The ideal candidate will perform pre-exam testing, lensometry, and specialty tests while maintaining patient rapport and accuracy.

Position requires walking/standing for long periods, willingness to travel to other offices, and a strong customer-focused approach in a busy clinical setting. COA/COT preferred and full benefits described.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication with patients and doctors.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Energetic attitude and positive demeanor.
• Willingness to travel to other offices occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for eight hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist Ophthalmologist and Optometrist in exam lanes.
• Input patient data into EHR accurately.
• Perform pre-exam testing (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, etc.).
• Conduct lensometry and specialty tests (OCT, keratometry).
• Assist with contact lens fitting and post-op instructions.
• Educate patients on medications and care.
