Job summary

UW Medicine Harborview Eye Institute is seeking a Full-time Ophthalmic Technician II to support comprehensive eye care services in Seattle. The role involves assisting with complex diagnostic examinations and imaging, patient intake, and medication administration under supervision of the ophthalmology team.

Qualified candidates have completed an ophthalmic technician program and at least one year of relevant experience; certification such as COA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist with complex clinical eye examinations and procedures as directed by the optometry/ophthalmology team.
• Perform ophthalmic imaging tests such as tonometry and visual field tests as ordered by physicians.
• Do patient intake, administer topical medications, and assist with procedures as needed.
• Communicate professionally within the department to support smooth workflow and a positive department image.
