Job summary

Millenium Eye Care, Freehold Office, part of Prism Vision Group, seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to perform measurements and tests to support physicians. This onsite, non-exempt role includes documentation and patient services, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of ophthalmic assistant experience, a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant credential, and education from HS/GED to bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience.
• HS Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy; perform required testing.
• Act as scribe during physician examination and input data into EMR.
• Perform lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exam, tonometry, and more.
• Administer diagnostic tests: OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Perform manifest refraction and assist with procedures.
• Assist training of other ophthalmic assistants and patient education.
