Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. You will collect patient information, perform preliminary exams, and support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities include conducting OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography, assisting in minor surgeries, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. A High School Diploma is required; COA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for patient care.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; prior Ophthalmic Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information to support accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Perform preliminary examinations including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Administer diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking as needed.
• Streamline patient flow and collaborate with clinical staff to maintain smooth clinic operations.
• Administer eye drops (certification may be required).
• Contribute to clinic efficiency with clinical and administrative duties.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
