Job summary

The Ophthalmic Technician at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in Los Angeles, CA, performs patient care under the supervision of an ophthalmologist, supporting physicians, nurses and division staff in a pediatric setting.

Shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday–Friday, with variable days off. Required: 1+ year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant; pediatric ophthalmology preferred; eye examination technique knowledge; bilingual preferred. Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician is preferred.

Schedule

Variable, 4x10hr shifts per week, Monday - Friday. The day off will not necessarily be the same each week.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Ophthalmic Technician, under general supervision of an Ophthalmologist, performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians, nurses, and division personnel. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

The Vision Center is located at the main hospital campus and some travel to satellite locations may be required.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

1+ years’ experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant required; previous Pediatric Ophthalmology experience preferred; basic knowledge of eye examination techniques; bilingual preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification

Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred. Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred.

Pay Scale Information

USD $49,920.00 - USD $66,560.00
