Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join an ophthalmology team in a multi-location practice. The role includes gathering patient information, performing preliminary tests, and assisting in procedures. Travel to two additional locations is required, with a Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and rotating Saturdays.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate diagnoses, maintain clinic efficiency, and provide compassionate patient care. A COA certification is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information with ophthalmologists to inform diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Conduct preliminary ophthalmic examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Perform advanced diagnostics such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops (Certification Required).
• Contribute to clinic efficiency through clinical and administrative tasks.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
