Job summary

Hill Vision Services is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. We value patient-focused care and a collaborative, learning-oriented culture. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of ophthalmology experience and may hold COA certification.

This is a Monday–Friday day shift with no nights, weekends, or holidays, and we offer a comprehensive wellness package including health insurance, a generous 401k match, paid time off, and holiday pay. Training is available for those new to ophthalmology.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years ophthalmology experience preferred.
  • Certification is a big plus.
  • COA preferred but not required.
  • Medical/healthcare experience is required.
  • Strong teamwork and patient care focus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews and document histories accurately.
  • Update patient charts and verify chief complaint.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy and ocular medications.
  • Perform diagnostic tests (HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers).
  • Operate EMR software and maintain efficient clinic workflow.
  • Learn and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job description

At Hill Vision Services, we are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team! Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of experience as a technician in a successful ophthalmology practice and having your certification is a big plus! Our team works very closely together, so ability to work well with others, eagerness to learn and a focus on patient care is key.

This is a Monday - Friday day shift position with No nights, weekends and No Holidays!

Willing to train for those without Ophthalmology experience. Medical/healthcare experience is required

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure patient charts are updated and accurate, including identifying/verifying the patient's chief complaint.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.
  • Perform various diagnostic tests, including HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, IOP, and Refracting.
  • Proficient with EMR computer programs.
  • Gain experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The successful candidate will have preferred experience with:
  • Refractions
  • Checking vision
  • IOP
  • Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)
  • Obtaining vital patient medical history
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical/Healthcare experience required.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications preferred.
  • COA is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
