Job summary

Wolfe Eye Clinic in Ames, IA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support our team with patient histories, diagnostic testing, and patient education. This role requires medical office experience and Ophthalmic testing exposure, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Expect to perform retinoscopy, refractometry, A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCTs, visual fields, and other duties. Travel to other clinics is required as needed and benefits include comprehensive coverage

Qualifications

• Medical office experience required.
• Ophthalmic testing experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Experience providing excellent patient care.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

• Document patient histories in the electronic medical record.
• Perform patient workups.
• Complete diagnostic testing (retinoscopy, manual refraction, A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCTs and visual fields).
• Provide patient education according to physician instructions.
• Travel to other Wolfe Eye Clinic offices as needed.
