Job summary

The Vancouver Clinic Ophthalmology team is hiring a full-time Ophthalmic Tech in Camas, WA. The position offers a 40-hour workweek with a mix of five 8-hour days or four 9-hour days plus one 4-hour day.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, triage by phone, screening, measurements, and assisting with laser or minor surgical procedures. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year ophthalmic tech experience or completion of an accredited program, and WA MA-Registered

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year ophthalmic tech experience or completion of accredited ophthalmic technician program.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Tech (COT) or COA preferred.
  • WA MA-Registered credential and BLS CPR certification required or obtainable within specified timeframes.
  • Experience with EHR; Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and instruments for exam.
  • Provide phone triage and screen patients.
  • Perform measurement tasks and assist with procedures.
  • Assist with laser and minor surgery procedures.
  • Provide patient instructions as required.

Job description

Join the Vancouver Clinic Ophthalmology team as a full-time Ophthalmic Tech! Preferred candidates will have hands-on experience with contact lens fitting and over-refraction techniques. Schedule: 40 hours per week, consisting of either five 8-hour workdays or four 9-hour workdays and one 4-hour workday. Location: Camas (4500 SE Columbia Palisades Dr, Camas, WA 98607) Hiring range is between $25.95-$30.53 and placement in the range depends on evaluation of experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and instruments for exam
  • Provide phone triage
  • Screen patients
  • Perform measurement tasks
  • Assist with laser and minor surgery procedures
  • Provide instructions to patients as required

Pay Range: $27.47 - $38.46

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working as an ophthalmic tech in a vision or ophthalmology setting, or recent completion of accredited ophthalmic technician program required.
  • Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Tech (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred.
  • Must obtain WA State MA-Registered credential within three months of hire date.
  • Must have or obtain BLS CPR Certification.
  • Must obtain Ophthalmic Assistant Certification within 18 months of employment.
  • EHR experience.
  • Epic experience preferred.
