Job summary

LASIK MD is seeking a Surgical/Medical Assistant to support the surgeon in the operating room, prepare instruments, and manage patient flow from entry to recovery. The role emphasizes empathy, precision, and teamwork in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic.

You will work in a standing position, coordinate perioperative tasks, and ensure patients understand postoperative steps, all while contributing to a safe, patient-centered experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to connect with others and quickly build trust.
• Strong sense of responsibility and seriousness about the role.
• Interest in healthcare and high-tech equipment.
• Comfort with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience in healthcare is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize instruments and arrange tools as needed.
• Coordinate patient flow in/out of the operating room.
• Explain postoperative eye drop schedules to patients.
• Reassure patients before and after procedures with empathy.
• Stand during procedures and ensure data accuracy.
• Support risk management by reporting safety concerns promptly.
