Job summary

American Vision Partners is seeking a Surgery Assistant to support the peri-operative team in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting. This role emphasizes precision, multitasking, and compassionate patient care. You will greet patients, assist pre-op and post-op, and help ensure smooth surgery flow.

Responsibilities include room turnover, monitoring patients, and maintaining infection control. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification, and customer service experience;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service experience is essential.
• 1 year medical office and/or surgery experience preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in ophthalmology is a plus.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Assists with pre-op and post-op as directed by surgeon, anesthesia provider or nurse.
• Moves patients into the surgery suite and connects monitors and oxygen as needed.
• Supports operating room turnover and room closure.
• Provides nourishment to patients as directed by the RN.
• Preps surgical site and assists with patient communications post-op.
• Stocks nourishment and reports equipment issues to supervisor.
• Maintains infection control guidelines and overall patient flow.
