Job summary

HUMBLE VASCULAR SURGICAL CENTER INC is seeking a Medical Scribe to accompany physicians in patient encounters, transcribe histories and exams, and document the physician's findings in the electronic medical record. The scribe will record diagnoses, symptoms, orders, procedures, and follow-up instructions while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Strong medical terminology is required; experience with ophthalmic tests (dilation, refraction, OCT) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong medical terminology is required.
• Experience with ophthalmic tests (dilation, refraction, OCT) is a plus.
• Ability to accurately transcribe histories and exams and document in EMR.
• Good understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physicians into patient examination rooms to transcribe history and physical exams.
• Document diagnoses, symptoms, orders, procedures, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions in the EMR.
• Record patient history, medications, and reason for visit; verify patient information.
• Record eye test results and observations (pupils, visual acuity, EOMs) as directed by the physician.
• Perform general duties and maintain a clean, professional office environment.
