Job summary

EVP Eyecare in Dallas is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Scribe. You will document physician notes in EMR, assist during exams, and help prepare procedures while supporting a high-quality patient experience.

Full-time role with training provided. Prior ophthalmic scribe/tech experience is preferred, with emphasis on accuracy, communication, and EMR proficiency. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• One year of ophthalmic scribe/technician experience in ophthalmology setting (or equivalent related ability) preferred
• COT certification and Ophthalmology knowledge or Medical/ Ophthalmic Scribe experience desired
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
• Well organized and attentive to detail

Responsibilities

• Document physician documentation in EMR
• Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination
• Document any procedures that may be performed by the physician or ophthalmic medical personnel
• Transcribe the history, examination, impression, plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders
• E-prescribe medications in EMR
• Measure pupil size and reactivity
• Corneal topography
• Fundus Photos
• Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement
• Retinal thickness and topography
• Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures and triage phone calls
• Coordinate surgical needs with the surgical counselors
• Coordinate with check-in and check-out staff regarding patients
• Create and provide a positive, accountable, and inspired work environment
