Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Scranton, PA, seeks a Registered Nurse to join our peri-operative team on day shift. This role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced surgical setting, with no weekends and no on-call.

You will coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and PACU, manage instrument setup, and ensure proper documentation and patient safety throughout the procedure.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operating room setting; preferably ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS & ACLS certifications required upon employment (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Performs peri-operative nursing care and supports the surgical team per standards.
• Oversees instrument setup and prepares case using preference cards.
• Coordinates the circulator role and ensures smooth transitions between procedures.
• Administers medications per orders and checks high-alert meds with double checks.
• Relays appropriate handoff to PACU to ensure continuity of care.
