Job summary

Walman Optical in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Distribution Clerk to accurately enter material orders and select products for Rx and stock processing. The role involves timely data entry, cycle counts, and maintaining orderly lab operations.

You will interpret inventory reports, follow company policies, and ensure accuracy before processing orders. The job requires attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in distribution/logistics
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required or equivalent work experience
• Basic use of laptop, keyboard and 10-key typing
• Good reading, writing and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate keying of lens and/or frame purchase orders into computer for electronic transmission to vendors and retrieving products from inventories for Rx/stock processing.
• Interprets reports on inventory levels, purchase orders, fill rates and related metrics.
• Perform cycle counts and periodic inventory.
• Follow promotions, policies and procedures in carrying out the order entry function.
• Recheck completed Rx orders for correctness before lab processing.
• Match vendor shipping memos and invoices and submit documents for payment.
• Maintain lab operating system software updates and procedures manual; keep work area neat and organized.
• Ensure compliance with attendance and safety rules; protect confidential information.
• Provide training and guidance for less experienced staff; attend internal trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
