Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking an on-site Full-time Optician Assistant in New York. You will assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and explain insurance benefits to ensure proper product choices.

The role requires a high school diploma and a New York Apprentice permit to practice, with 1–3 months of related experience preferred. You will work closely with a lab and an Optometrist to ensure accuracy and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Assist each customer in frame and lens selection.
• Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and other services.
• Explain insurance benefits and charges not covered by third party coverage to ensure proper selection of frames and lenses.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and related accessories.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure accuracy of patient pricing and coordinate with lab and Optometrist to confirm prescriptions.
