Job summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant at Heaton Eye Associates plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care, obtaining and documenting medical histories, and performing ophthalmic tests as directed by physicians.

Responsibilities include preliminary eye assessments, diagnostic testing, patient preparation, and equipment maintenance, while also supporting administrative tasks to ensure a smooth clinic operation and excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Extraordinary Customer Service and Team Member Relations – REQUIRED!
• Medical experience is a plus, but not required
• Multiline phone system experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Patient workups – obtain and document exam information, perform testing prior to the exam
• Special testing as ordered by Physician
• Return patient phone calls
• Scribing for the doctor(s)
• Report completion
• Protects patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Other duties as assigned
