Job summary

Marshall Medical Center is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to provide clinical, technical, and administrative support to ophthalmologists and the care team. You will prepare patients for examinations, collect histories, run preliminary tests, assist with procedures, and maintain and operate ophthalmic equipment.

This role also supports documentation, patient education, care coordination, and daily clinic operations while ensuring safety, confidentiality, and adherence to protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred.
  • Experience in ophthalmology or optometry required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Obtain and document medical histories.
  • Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing.
  • Assist with examinations and in-office procedures.
  • Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
  • Support clinical documentation and patient education.
  • Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate daily clinic operations.
