Job summary

Avera Eye Care Marshall is seeking a PRN ophthalmic assistant to greet patients, collect medical histories, and assist physicians with examinations and procedures. You will help prepare equipment, support surgical and non-surgical procedures, and manage the front desk tasks including scheduling and referrals.

Prospective candidates should be able to work day shifts, have strong communication skills, and be comfortable with ophthalmic testing and EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Preferred IJCAHPO certifications listed in the ad.
• Experience in medical office setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone and obtain medical history.
• Perform opening examination tests and prepare equipment for physician.
• Assist with surgical procedures and prepare instruments as needed.
• Use the electronic health record for ophthalmic evaluations.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle prior authorizations.
• Coordinate and manage clinic inventory and contact pharmacies for refills.
