Job summary

Avera Eye Care Marshall is seeking a friendly ophthalmic assistant to greet patients and obtain medical histories either in person or by phone. You will conduct opening examinations, prepare equipment for physicians, and assist with routine procedures while maintaining accurate EHR entries.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced ophthalmic clinic. Experience in a medical office is preferred; High School diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Greeting patients in person or over the phone.
• Obtain medical history and patient concerns; assist with exams.
• Proficient in the ophthalmic evaluation and use of EHR.

Responsibilities

• Ensure examination rooms are stocked and equipment ready.
• Room and prepare patient; collect ophthalmic and medical history.
• Perform opening exams and prep equipment for physician.
• Assist with ophthalmic procedures; arrange instruments.
• Answer phones; schedule appointments; handle filings and authorizations.
• Coordinate and manage clinic inventory.
• Contact pharmacy for refills per policy.
