Zusammenfassung

Marshall Medical Center is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to provide clinical, technical, and administrative support to ophthalmologists and the care team. You will prepare patients for examinations, collect histories, run preliminary tests, assist with procedures, and maintain and operate ophthalmic equipment.

This role also supports documentation, patient education, care coordination, and daily clinic operations while ensuring safety, confidentiality, and adherence to protocols.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Position Summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant provides clinical, technical, and administrative support to ophthalmologists and the ophthalmology care team to facilitate efficient, high-quality patient care. This position prepares patients for examinations, obtains and documents medical histories, performs preliminary ophthalmic testing, assists with examinations and in-office procedures, and operates and maintains ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. The role also supports clinical documentation, patient education, care coordination, and daily clinic operations while maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance with established clinical protocols.

Position Qualifications

Education / Licensure / Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred.

Knowledge / Experience

• Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
