Lexington Medical Center seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists with patient intake, testing, and documentation in Epic. The role includes acting as a clinical scribe, assisting with exams, and coordinating appointments. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Minimum education is a high school diploma; COA certification within 18 months is required, plus BLS. On-site day shift with comprehensive benefits and a sign-on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certification: Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) within 18 months of hiring.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients and providers with direct and indirect patient care.
• Perform pre-exam testing such as visual acuity, tonometry and related ophthalmic procedures.
• Enter patient information into Epic and maintain medical records.
• Functions as a Clinical Scribe as needed.
• Schedule physician appointments and coordinate referrals.
