Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a certified or non-certified ophthalmic assistant to join the South University Clinic ophthalmology team in Fargo, North Dakota. The OA/COA will support ophthalmologists and optometrists, perform tests and procedures, and help deliver high-quality eye care in a daytime outpatient setting.

The schedule is 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• No educational requirements.
• Non-certified applicants must obtain JCAHPO certification within 1 year.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant must have JCAHPO certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality care to patients of all ages and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in providing eye care.
• Performs tests and procedures and supports the ophthalmology team in a daytime outpatient setting.
