Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support our clinicians in a multi-specialty setting across 28 eastern Massachusetts locations. You will greet patients, take histories, perform routine testing, document in the medical record, and assist with exams and minor procedures in the office.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma and the ability to use electronic records; ACLS/BLS may be required in specialty areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution.
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• Proven ability to use electronic tools and applications relevant to the duties, including EMR systems.
• Compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and collects relevant information.
• Performs preliminary ophthalmic testing and documents findings.
• Assists clinicians during examinations and minor procedures in the office.
• Educates patients on medications, drops, and post-visit care; schedules follow-ups as needed.
• Maintains equipment and prepares instruments for procedures.
