Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to support clinicians with preliminary exams, testing, and patient education at multiple locations in eastern Massachusetts. Certification within two years (JCAHPO/NCLE) is required if applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use electronic tools and applications relevant to duties.
• Must comply with federal, state, local and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms; inputs clinical data.
• Performs preliminary testing: pupil function, ocular motility, field testing.
• Performs visual field testing and optic testing.
• Assists in ophthalmic procedures and in dispensing ocular drops.
• Counsels patients on drops, meds, and surgery when applicable.
