Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Inc. is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our on-site clinical team in Falmouth, MA. You will support physicians by gathering patient data, performing visual acuity and diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Under supervision, you will handle instruments, manage equipment, and assist with care coordination. Training opportunities aim toward certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant.
• 1-2 years working in a fast-paced environment.
• 1-2 years' experience in the customer service industry.
• General understanding of anatomy and physiology.
• Demonstrated ability to understand complex concepts, with strong math and science skills.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, while maintaining a high level of service and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Greet patients, gather information, and conduct examinations.
• Clinical Procedures: Perform a wide range of ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Equipment Management: Operate ophthalmic equipment, maintain inventory, and report malfunctions.
• Documentation: Document patient information and procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with physicians, other technicians, and staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Administrative Tasks: Assist with care coordination and other administrative duties.
