Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) was established in 1969 to offer patients the highest quality eye care and laser/surgical treatment. OCB is the premier eye care provider in the region with nineteen practice locations in the greater Boston area, South Shore, and Cape Cod. OCB ophthalmologists use the most advanced diagnostic, laser, and surgical techniques available, earning a national and international reputation for excellence.

This is an entry-level position, and we provide free training for motivated individuals.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the department supervisor, the Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive ophthalmic care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with patient data collection, maintaining a clinical environment, performing visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, autorefractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, external examination, applanation tonometry, tonopen, eye drop instillation, diagnostic testing, and participating in patient care. The technician also maintains patient records, ensuring organized workflow, and participates in employer-sponsored training aiming for certification by JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months of hire.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Full-Time, No Nights or Weekends
