Job summary

Star Construction, LLC in Alabama is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator to operate drill equipment and install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure.

You will determine bore paths, locate utilities, and ensure safe, efficient operation across varying weather conditions. Weekly pay, PTO, parental leave, and a strong benefits package support your career growth with us.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and clean driving record.
• Experience operating drilling equipment and performing bore work.
• Ability to locate utilities and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all drilling equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems as required.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement, including an acceptable driving record
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
