Job summary

Star Construction LLC is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator in Alabama to install underground telecommunications cables. You will determine bore paths, operate specialized drilling equipment, verify utilities, and manage bore schedules while maintaining safety and site readiness.

Role requires working in all weather, handling heavy machinery, and adhering to safety procedures. CDL with tanker endorsement and relevant drilling experience are preferred; strong attention to detail is essential

Qualifications

• Experience with drilling equipment and bore design processes.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control drill equipment to install cables.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems as required.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site set-up, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement, including an acceptable driving record
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
