Job summary

Mars Petcare in Columbus, OH is seeking a Cannery Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift (nights). You will be a multi-skilled packing associate working from 11pm to 7:30am, Monday to Friday, focused on achieving maximum line efficiency while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have warehouse or manufacturing experience, be proficient with computer software, and hold a technical degree or certifications.

Qualifications

• Submit an OAP or Cross-Bid form.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in computer software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent packaging line efficiency with the set plan and escape any deviations.
• Ensure safe and correct operation of packing lines equipment and plant.
• Responsible for the achievement of packaging score.
• Ensure cleaning regimes are upheld and fulfilled to the highest standard.
• Actively participate in Operational processes that support the improvement of our business performance.
• Any ad hoc requests.

Hours: 11pm-7:30am

Job Purpose

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

• Submit an OAP or Cross-Bid form
• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Proficient in computer software's.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
• Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.
• Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment
• Ability to read, write and understand English

Preferred Requirements:

• Technical degree or certifications
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing role
• Packaging equipment experience
