Job summary

Mars Petcare is seeking a Packaging Operator to package converted materials into finished products following quality standards and the production schedule.

You will work on a rotating shift with 2nd and 3rd shifts, handling line operations, changeovers, quality checks, and data entry in MIS, while maintaining safety and cleanliness on the floor.

Qualifications

• Basic math, reading and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of GMPs and basic PC concepts.
• Ability to lead/self-direct and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging line on rotation (big bag, middle bag, pouch, super sack) to schedule.
• Perform changeovers, troubleshoot lines and maintain palletizer operation.
• Conduct quality checks and report results; monitor product flow to line.
• Enter work orders into MIS and assist maintenance on calls.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and uphold food safety standards.
• Lead problem solving on the floor and in meetings; promote teamwork.

The Packaging Operator provides Mars Petcare with the knowledge and skills to effectively and safely package the converted raw materials to high quality finished product according to Quality standards and production schedule. This is to provide our customers with the proper product at the appropriate destination in a timely and cost effective manner.

• Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner.
• Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years' experience (manufacturing environment preferred).

What will be your key responsibilities?
