Job summary

Mars Petcare Cannery is seeking a dedicated Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift in Columbus, OH. You will maximize packing line efficiency while upholding top safety and quality standards. The role runs 11pm–7:30am, Monday to Friday, on-site at our Cannery facility.

Responsibilities include operating packaging lines, ensuring safe operations, achieving packaging score goals, and maintaining clean work areas. 1+ year manufacturing experience and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in manufacturing or warehouse.
• Proficient with computer software including MS Office and email.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain packaging line efficiency and adhere to the plan.
• Operate and ensure safe operation of packaging lines and equipment.
• Contribute to achieving the packaging score targets.
• Perform cleaning regimes to the highest standard.
• Support operational processes that improve performance.
• Fulfill ad hoc requests as needed.

Job Description:

The Cannery Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.

Shift Schedule:

Shift: 3rds (nights)

Schedule: Monday- Friday

Hours: 11pm- 7:30am

Job Purpose:

The Cannery Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
• 1+ year experience in manufacturing or warehouse
• Proficient in computer software's including MS office and email

Physical Requirements:

• Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
• Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Requirements:

• Technical degree or certifications
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing role
• Packaging equipment experience

• Maintain excellent packaging line efficiency with the set plan and elevate any deviations
• Ensure safe and correct operation of packing lines equipment and plant
• Responsible for the achievement of packaging score
• Ensure cleaning regimes are upheld and fulfilled to the highest standard
• Actively participate in Operational processes that support the improvement of our business performance
• Any ad hoc requests
