Job summary

City of Tulsa is seeking a skilled construction or heavy equipment operator with a strong background in major repair and heavy construction. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of progressively responsible experience (including lead work), or alternatively one year of experience as an Operator II.

The role requires compliance with licensing and safety standards. Work is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, at the Jackson Ave

QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet the following criteria: a) Graduation from high school or possession of a General Educational Development Certificate (GED); and b) Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the major repair or heavy construction field, including, c) Semiskilled and skilled work in the major repair or heavy construction field with some lead work responsibility; or d) One (1) year as an Operator II.

Licenses and Certificates

• Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class “D” Driver License
• Class “A” CDL with endorsements within designated timeframes depending on division, some positions
• Relevant Class “D” Water/Wastewater License as issued by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) within 6 months of hire, some positions
• Confined Space Entry Certification and/or Certification on Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) within 6 months of hire, some positions
