Job summary

Baxter is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Final Assembly to perform routine assemblies, inspections, packing/shipping and sub-assemblies using basic tools and methods with pre-assigned output levels.

You will rotate among stations, interpret blueprints and process sheets, and handle small parts and simple machinery while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role includes teamwork and potential overtime to meet production needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and use basic math; maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to rotate among stations and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic in-process testing to ensure quality.
  • Rotate among stations to cover department needs and cross-train.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and process sheets to determine setup and procedures.
  • Work with basic chemicals and simple machinery for prep and assembly.
  • Assist higher-level assemblers and troubleshoot discrepancies with supervision.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of completed work and monitor schedule, quality, and quantity.
  • Package components for shipment with protection against damage.

Your Role

As a Manufacturing Operator in Final Assembly, you will perform routine assemblies, inspections, packing/shipping and/or sub-assemblies using basic tools and assembly techniques while working to pre-assigned levels of output!

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform basic visual and/or physical in-process testing to ensure high quality standards are met.
  • You will have the opportunity to rotate among stations within work center/department and may be assigned to more complex tasks, as needed, to facilitate cross training and to cover department/work center needs.
  • Your ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, and process sheets will help you to determine set-up procedures, equipment and materials needed, assembly process, safety precautions, cycle time and related requirements.
  • You may work with basic chemicals in performing assembly detail as well as use simple machinery to prepare component parts for further assembly.
  • You will work with a diverse group of people, your positive and enthusiastic demeanor will aid you in assisting higher-level Assemblers in more complicated assemblies or final production, as needed.
  • Likewise, ability to diagnose faulty operations, product imperfections, and/or equipment malfunctions will enable you to work with technical and supervisory personnel to resolve discrepancies.
  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory count of completed work as well as monitoring work and insuring requirements are being met regarding schedule, quality and quantity.
  • You may package component parts or assemblies for shipment, ensuring protection from potential shipment damage and that all vital parts and instructions are present.
What You'll Bring
  • You must have good mechanical dexterity/eyesight, ability to read, write and use basic math; maintain a high degree of accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.
  • The successful candidate is able to adapt to a changing work environment, including increased automation, change in production methods or sequences and rotation among workstations.
  • You work well with others and actively participate in team problem-solving activities.
  • You may be requested to work overtime, as needed.
  • Be able to lift 40lbs and work in various positions: standing, sitting, and working on repetitive jobs/assemblies.
Education and/or Experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalency
  • 1 year (minimum) of successful experience in assembly/related functional area is preferred.

Compensation is determined based on several factors including relevant skills and experience, tenure, business line, and geographic location.
