Job summary

Baxter is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Final Assembly to perform routine assemblies, inspections, packing/shipping and sub-assemblies using basic tools and assembly techniques at pre-assigned output levels. You will rotate among stations, read blueprints, and support cross-training while contributing to quality and on-time production.

The role requires good mechanical dexterity, ability to read diagrams, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year (minimum) of successful experience in assembly/related functional area is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and use basic math; maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.
• Good mechanical dexterity and accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic visual and/or physical in-process testing to ensure high quality standards are met.
• Rotate among stations within work center/department to support cross training.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and process sheets to determine setup procedures, equipment and materials needed, assembly process, safety precautions, cycle time and related requirements.
• Handle basic chemicals in assembly detail and use simple machinery to prepare component parts for further assembly.
• Assist higher-level Assemblers in more complicated assemblies or final production, as needed.
• Diagnose faulty operations, product imperfections, and/or equipment malfunctions and resolve discrepancies with technical staff.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts of completed work and monitor schedule, quality and quantity.

Your Role As a Manufacturing Operator in Final Assembly, you will perform routine assemblies, inspections, packing/shipping and/or sub-assemblies using basic tools and assembly techniques while working to pre-assigned levels of output!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform basic visual and/or physical in-process testing to ensure high quality standards are met.
• You will have the opportunity to rotate among stations within work center/department and may be assigned to more complex tasks, as needed, to facilitate cross training and to cover department/work center needs.
• Your ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, and process sheets will help you to determine set-up procedures, equipment and materials needed, assembly process, safety precautions, cycle time and related requirements.
• You may work with basic chemicals in performing assembly detail as well as use simple machinery to prepare component parts for further assembly.
• You will work with a diverse group of people, your positive and enthusiastic demeanor will aid you in assisting higher-level Assemblers in more complicated assemblies or final production, as needed.
• Likewise, ability to diagnose faulty operations, product imperfections, and/or equipment malfunctions will enable you to work with technical and supervisory personnel to resolve discrepancies.
• Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory count of completed work as well as monitoring work and insuring requirements are being met regarding schedule, quality and quantity.
• You may package component parts or assemblies for shipment, ensuring protection from potential shipment damage and that all vital parts and instructions are present.

What You'll Bring:

• You must have good mechanical dexterity/eyesight, ability to read, write and use basic math; maintain a high degree of accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.
• The successful candidate is able to adapt to a changing work environment, including increased automation, change in production methods or sequences and rotation among workstations.
• You work well with others and actively participate in team problem-solving activities.
• You may be requested to work overtime, as needed.
• Be able to lift 40lbs and work in various positions: standing, sitting, and working on repetitive jobs/assemblies.

Education and/or Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalency.
• 1 year (minimum) of successful experience in assembly/related functional area is preferred.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees and strive to be transparent with our pay practices. Pay Rate: $22.30 per hour. Compensation is determined based on several factors including relevant skills and experience, tenure, business line, and geographic location.
