Job summary

City of Conyers is seeking an Operator I at the Georgia International House Park to operate moderately complex and heavy equipment, perform manual labor, transport materials and personnel to sites, and maintain equipment. You will assist in construction tasks and support event setups.

The role may involve supervising in the absence of the Operator II and Foreman, handling maintenance calls, and assisting with plumbing and electrical work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.
• One or more years of experience in general construction, maintenance, landscaping.
• Ability to operate a variety of heavy machinery and power tools.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to building maintenance calls.
• Operate a dump truck under 36,000 GVW and tow large trailers when needed.
• Perform minor welding with torches and operate related equipment.
• Set up events and assist with coordination during events.
• Assist Foreman and Operator II with event coordination.
