Job summary

DEMGY Pacific is seeking an on-site Injection Molding Operator in Tacoma, WA. You will operate an injection molding machine, produce parts per instructions, inspect for defects, and maintain clean, organized work cells with proper PPE.

You will record production metrics and ensure adherence to safety policies while supporting team goals. The role requires reading written work instructions, collaborating with operators and supervisors to improve processes, and fluently using the company ERP

• Record production data, including volume produced, downtime, scrap, reject rates, and machine efficiency.
• Adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

• Produce product based on operator work instructions and quality requirements.
• Inspect produced parts for defects such as cracks, bubbles, or color inconsistencies, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Learn and follow ERP system processes and documentation requirements.
• Stage parts with paperwork after every job is completed.

• Location: DEMGY Pacific, LLC, Tacoma WA
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Physical Requirements

• Stamina to work all assigned hours
• Ability to work in a shop environment – frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, and oils
• Frequent standing and walking. Limited reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Ability to stand or walk 100% of the workday
• Hearing and speaking required 100% of the workday
• Use of hands 100% of the workday - use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
• 20/20 vision required with or without correction - to assess cosmetic requirements, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Responsibilities

OPERATOR 1

• Operate an injection molding machine in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner.
• Produce product based on operator work instructions and quality requirements.
• Keep individual work cells clean and organized.
• Inspect produced parts for defects such as cracks, bubbles, or color inconsistencies, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Read, understand, and follow written Work Instructions for each individual part.
• Record production data, including volume produced, downtime, scrap, reject rates, and machine efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

OPERATOR 2

• Fulfill the Essential Functions of an Operator 1.
• Train/mentor Operator 1 team members to ensure they safely develop practices that optimize workflow and create the best consistent quality of finished goods.
• Safely be able to operate an Injection Molding Machine using a bandsaw, table router, or ultra sonic welder.
• Ensure work cells are set up with required safety equipment, tools for operation, packaging supplies, and documentation needed to facilitate production.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Be able to fill in for a Floor Lead, in the event a Floor Lead is absent.
• Ensure operators are reading, acknowledging (signing), and performing their job per the work instructions.
• Work with team members and supervisors to improve production processes and product quality
• Fluency in Demgy Pacific’s ERP system.
• Stage parts with paperwork after every job is completed.
