Job Details

Location: Tacoma, WA 98409. Position Type: Full Time. Salary Range: $28.75 - $34.75 hourly. Job Shift: Swing. Job Category: Manufacturing.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position’s responsibility is to sustain operation, at an optimum level, of the Injection Molding Production Department, performed with efficiency, cleanliness, and punctuality, with the sole purpose of producing molded product according to our customers’ needs and specifications.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm; $3.00 Shift Differential
  • Location: DEMGY Pacific, LLC, Tacoma WA
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Specific vision abilities required by the job include able to see with 20/20 vision to assess cosmetic requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

APPLICABLE METRICS
  • Labor reporting percentage (daily avg)
  • Labor reported within BOM setup times, vs labor outside of setup times (should be a ratio)
  • Setup and troubleshooting scrap (qty) vs standard cost total
  • Damaged tooling/equipment on setup, teardown, startup or operation (number of instances)Adhere to the Demgy Pacific attendance point system

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Start, or re-start, jobs using an established process with minimal start-up rejects
  • Adjust processing parameters, within defined limits, to maintain a consistent and quality product
  • Effectively purge a machine completely clean, to transition from one material to the next
  • In an efficient and orderly fashion, Setup/Teardown molds in various injection molding machines
  • Follow a cooling diagram (mold drawing) and route coolant lines in an efficient and orderly fashion
  • Verify all auxiliary equipment for a job, is set up in an orderly fashion, and functions properly
  • Use a variety of hand tools in an appropriate and safe manner
  • Proficiency in the ERP system (IQMS) as it pertains to the position of Molding Technician.
  • Generate work orders (MRO’s) for mold or equipment repair.
  • Record scrap created when starting a machine, troubleshooting, or re-establishing process.
  • Record time spent on tasks accurately
  • Consistently clean molds, presses, auxiliary equipment and the production floor
  • Identify obvious reject conditions and how to correct them (processing)
  • At the discretion of the quality department, correct less obvious reject conditions (processing)
  • Operation of injection molding machines in support of production needs
  • Assist the floor lead in the giving of operator breaks in the event of a staffing shortage
  • Properly stage and store molds, auxiliary equipment, and materials in a clean and organized fashion
  • Able to perform the responsibilities of the Material Handler, in the event of a staffing shortage, Including the disassembly and cleaning of dehumidifying dryers
  • Able to perform the responsibilities of the Setup Technician, in the event of a staffing shortage
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision
  • Above all, perform the previously listed tasks in a safe manner, including the use of PPE when necessary

  • Follow Demgy 5S program (workstation organization/locations maintained)
  • Follow policies outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

  • Able to perform basic to intermediate math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and real-world applications)
  • Knowledge of resin properties and how to apply them

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in injection mold processes with hands on experience working with Mold heaters, Dryers, DME Hot Runner Controls, Vacuum Verification units, Core mules, and Automation (pickers, robots, conveyors, and chutes), required
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing organization, preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
